Our client list has considerable breadth. We have and continue to serve firms of varying size and geography – from large multi-jurisdictional and international law firms to single office, mid-size law firms. Our clients include visible and highly-respected firms in virtually every region of the United States, many with offices and operations throughout the world.
In recent years, law firms have grown to be the single largest industry served by Smock•Sterling. Nevertheless, commercial clientele remain an intrinsic part of our practice and represent a diverse range of companies – both in terms of the size of the companies we have served and relative to the industries in which they compete. We have served widely respected Global 100 corporations as well as a variety of highly regarded, growing middle market companies. Our industry experience includes heavy manufacturing, energy and pipelining, distribution, specialty manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, food processing, health care, telecommunications, materials sciences, new and old media (Internet and newspapers), and many other industries.
Our law firm client contacts are usually the Chairman or Managing Partner, but generally extend to the management or executive committee. In other cases our primary point of contact is the Executive Director or Chief Operating Officer, an Office Managing Partner, Practice Group Leaders, Department Heads, or Strategic Planning Task Force or Committee Chairs.
Our clients are far and away our greatest source of new business – both from additional work for their firms and through referrals to their friends and contacts. We take a great deal of pride from the success our clients achieve and relish the opportunity to provide references to prospective clients.
Part of our success has grown from our ability to work effectively with people throughout and across our clients’ firms. Thus, even when a clients’ attorneys are skeptical of outside consultants and/or have had bad experiences with other consulting organizations, we consistently manage to deliver excellent results that the entire organization supports.
