We generally work on well-defined projects. We start by gaining a basic understanding of the client’s specific need or issue. From there we design a project work plan or approach focused on addressing that need or issue. Based on the scope of effort involved in that work plan, we will commit to a fixed quote for professional fees. We will not bill for more than our fixed quotes unless the scope of work changes significantly and we confirm that change of scope directly with our client.
We usually prepare a formal proposal to clients in response to their expressed needs. Our proposals always include a review of our understanding of the client’s needs, a defined work plan and proposed approach to the work, and a firm price quotation. Usually, our proposals also include a list of references, a definition of deliverable work products, a description of expected benefits from the work, a review of proposed project staffing, a discussion of project timing and deadlines, and discussions of logical next steps.
Because we are a “boutique firm,” we are able to be very flexible in designing project work plans and project scopes that fit within our clients’ budgets and availability to engage in the project in question. Our work is customized to the needs of the client, is built on a lifetime of consulting experience, and draws upon proven methods and tools.
